Vegas for Athletes announces that registration is open for the inaugural VFA Summer Games, a citywide youth sports and athlete experience taking place in Las Vegas from June 22 through June 26, 2026.
Partnering with the City of Las Vegas, Unrivaled Sports and many other major community stakeholders, the VFA Summer Games will bring together thousands of young athletes across multiple sports for a multi-day experience that celebrates youth athletics while advancing a critical public health mission.
Sudden cardiac arrest remains the leading medical cause of death in young athletes and often presents with no warning signs. Through the VFA Summer Games, Vegas for Athletes is using youth sports as a highly visible platform to reinforce that every young athlete should receive ECG heart screening and that checking an athlete’s heart for prevention is just as essential as training, competing, and playing the game.
The VFA Summer Games is intentionally designed to be both meaningful and memorable, combining competitive play with athlete-focused experiences and citywide moments to create an engaging environment the community can rally behind while delivering an important life-saving message.
Events will take place across multiple premier venues throughout Las Vegas, including the Opening Ceremony featuring live entertainment, a citywide Closing Celebration at Cowabunga Bay Water Park, and competition venues such as Tarkanian Basketball Academy, It’s All Volleyball, and Victory Martial Arts.
“Our goal is simple,” said Troy Roques, Executive Director of Vegas for Athletes. “Heart screening should be embedded into youth sports at scale. Las Vegas is serving as the pilot for how this can be done in a way that is engaging, educational, and impossible to ignore, with the intent to replicate this model nationwide so no child is missed.”
