WHAT:
On Monday, May 4, otherwise known as “May the Fourth [Be With You],” couples from across the country visited the Wedding Capital of the World™ to say “I do” in ceremonies inspired by the beloved galactic film franchise. What began as an amusing novelty evolved into a full-blown wedding trend, as these couples sought out nuptials that doubled as immersive, story-driven experiences. Las Vegas, long known for its ease, accessibility and flair for matrimonial spectacle, proved it was uniquely qualified to turn that demand into unforgettable tributes to the couples’ favorite space-themed sets and characters.
Newlyweds Justin Snyder and Sage Huddleston of New Port Richey, Florida, wed at The Little Vegas Chapel with its “Yoda One For Me” package. The two “Star Wars” fans gathered with friends and family dressed in costume for a one-of-a-kind ceremony officiated by Darth Vader.
At the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel, another happy couple, John Garrison and Nancy Mosqueda from Port Orchard, Washington, tied the knot with the “Intergalactic Force Package” featuring a Darth Vader officiant, complete with themed décor and vows, smoke and fog effects, limousine service and the couple’s name in lights on their jumbo Las Vegas Boulevard marquee—turning the ceremony into a shareable moment for their guests back home.
These themed ceremonies provided a built-in guest experience—something Las Vegas excels at delivering—while simplifying logistics through inclusive packages and a streamlined marriage license process.
With its blend of accessibility, value, cultural relevance and an enormous range of price points suited for every couple, Las Vegas remains unmatched in its ability to turn moments on the calendar into reasons to celebrate and excuses to enjoy a getaway. For couples this May 4, the Force may be strong, but the pull of Las Vegas was even stronger.
