LAS VEGAS (April 28, 2026) – As Cinco de Mayo approaches, Nevada’s Zero Fatalities Program is partnering with Lyft to encourage safe celebrations by offering discounted rides across Las Vegas and Reno. The program provides $5 off rides to help community members get to and from their destinations without driving under the influence.
“One decision can change everything. So be sure to plan ahead,” said Zero Fatalities Program Manager Anita Pepper. “Cinco de Mayo is a time to celebrate, but it’s also a time to make smart choices. Whether it’s using a rideshare, designating a sober driver or planning another way home, we all share the responsibility of keeping our roads safe.”
From 12:00 p.m. on May 5 through 4:00 a.m. on May 6, riders can redeem $5 off one Lyft trip using the code SAFERIDECINCO. The offer is available to 300 riders total, limited to one ride per rider, while supplies last. The discount can be redeemed directly in the Lyft app or by visiting: https://www.lyft.com/lp/SAFERIDECINCO

About Zero Fatalities
Nevada’s Zero Fatalities Program is all about eliminating fatalities on Nevada roadways. Some people may think zero is an impossible goal, but when it comes to your family and friends, what other number would be acceptable? We’re aiming for zero because everyone matters. The road to zero targets key behaviors like buckling up, being pedestrian and motorcycle safe, eliminating impaired driving, focusing on the road, and stopping on red.
