
REMSA Health announces the appointment of Sean Slamon to the role of emergency manager. Slamon has more than three decades of experience in emergency management, fire service operations and cross-agency collaboration.
In his role, Slamon will maintain and advance the organization’s initiatives, plans, programs, policies and response protocols related to emergency management. He will coordinate manmade and natural disaster planning, internal training, response drills, tabletop exercises and after-action reviews in conjunction with area hospitals, first response partner agencies, as well as public health staff and committees. In addition, he will support the ground operations division in the delivery of high-quality clinical care in the 9-1-1 and non-emergency transport system.

Slamon comes to the organization from his role as the fire chief and emergency manager of the Carson City Fire Department where he oversaw fire and EMS operations, wildland fire and fuels reduction, fire prevention, emergency management and administrative services. Prior to that, he spent 28 years in Modesto, California with the fire department and regional fire authority where he worked as a firefighter, captain, battalion chief, division chief and fire chief.
Slamon holds a bachelor’s degree in occupational studies from California State University, Long Beach and an associate degree in fire science from Modesto Junior College. He is an emergency medical technician and is certified in the Incident Command System and National Incident Management System. Slamon is an executive board member of the Nevada Fire Chiefs Association and is a past president of the Northern Nevada Fire Chiefs Association.
