Jewish Nevada, a non-profit organization that serves as the representative organization for the more than 70,000 Jews in Nevada, announced today that Johanna Gruen will join the organization as program coordinator for community engagement in northern Nevada.
Heavily involved in the Jewish community for many years, Johanna previously served on the San Francisco Hillel Board as a student leader, has taught at a Hebrew school, and has volunteered on the Northern Nevada Jewish Council.
In her new role, Johanna will work closely with the Jewish Nevada staff and volunteers to promote and facilitate the community’s connection to and involvement in Jewish activities. Passionate about helping others connect with their Jewish identity and community, Johanna’s addition to Jewish Nevada team will help the nonprofit build up a vibrant Jewish community in northern Nevada.
Johanna attended the University of San Francisco where she received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and went on to earn a master’s degree and doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Palo Alto University.
