Chad Fisher, a Western High School culinary arts teacher, was named “Favorite Teacher” at a surprise presentation during Teacher Appreciation Week. The recognition contest was sponsored by Move 4 Less where nominees had to answer one question: “Why does this teacher make you smile?” This coincides with the Move 4 Less tagline: “Smile! It’s Moving Day!”
Move 4 Less presented Fisher with a $1,500 Visa card and special Teacher Appreciation Week basket filled with other prizes and edible treats at school in front of his students and staff. His wife also came for the surprise.
Fisher received the most unique nominations of the 525 teachers who were submitted. Five of the 127 students who nominated him read their comments.

“Thank you to Move 4 Less for supporting all the teachers, and I can’t thank my students enough for nominating me,” said Fisher, who became a teacher to give back and for quality of life. “Their responses and feelings make teaching worth every moment, when you realize the effect you have on your students and others around you.”
Fisher will be completing four years of teaching at Western High School and eight years in the Clark County School District. Previously, he worked in various chef positions throughout Europe.
“We are very excited to have Mr. Fisher receive this recognition. He is definitely loved by his students,” said Samantha Hager, Western High School, assistant principal.
