Nevada State University has welcomed the largest first-year class in its 23-year history, enrolling 576 new students and reaching a record total enrollment of 8,366. The previous first-year enrollment record was set in 2017 with 549 students.
“We are proud to see our enrollment continue to grow — a testament to our commitment to teaching excellence, affordable tuition, and strong student support services,” said Officer in Charge Dr. Amber Lopez Lasater. “Our dedicated faculty and staff put students at the center of everything we do, and our programs are designed to meet both their goals and the needs of today’s workforce,” she added.
Graduate programs are also fueling Nevada State’s growth. Newly launched degrees, including the Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Master of Education in School Psychology, helped drive nearly a 50% increase in graduate enrollment this fall.
This academic year also marks the launch of Nevada State’s first athletic programs, with more than 50 student-athletes competing in Men’s Track and Field and Women’s Flag Football beginning in Spring 2026.
