“DuAne brings a deep understanding of health care policy and a strong track record of public service that will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our relationships with state leaders and advocate for the communities we serve,” said Eric Schmacker, president and CEO of SilverSummit Healthplan. “We are excited to welcome him to the team and look forward to his leadership in advancing policies that improve access to quality care for Nevadans.”
Most recently, Young served as lead director of state government affairs for the Mountain West region at CVS Health, where he led strategic engagement efforts across multiple states. Prior to that, he served as senior policy director for former Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak, culminating an eight-year career in Nevada state service. During that time, he held several key roles, including deputy medical administrator for Nevada Medicaid, where he oversaw medical programs and community-based services for three years.
Young also brings private-sector leadership experience, having served as vice president of special projects for The Change Companies. His combined public- and private-sector experience positions him to effectively navigate complex policy landscapes and drive meaningful health care outcomes.
Young earned a Bachelor of Science from Miami University and a master’s degree from Wesleyan University. He also completed coursework toward a Doctor of Education in organizational leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University.
