“Behind every scholarship, every new teacher, and every book is a community that shows time and time again that they firmly believe in the critical importance of education,” said Peter Guzman, Chair of the PEF Board of Directors and President and CEO of the Latin Chamber of Commerce. “These accomplishments are only possible because of our partners, and together we will transform even more lives in the coming year.”
In 2025, PEF generated the following results for local students and teachers:
● Awarded $6.9 million in postsecondary scholarships to more than 750 students through
our Scholarships Plus program
● Supported 174 newly licensed teachers on their journey to completing UNLV’s Nevada
Forward TM teacher apprenticeship program and teaching more than 5,200 students in their own classrooms through Teacher FastTrack
● Distributed 1,156 Classroom in a Box kits, impacting 34,680 students
● Distributed more than 86,000 free books to more than 40,000 students through the Book Bus, a partnership with CCSD and Spread the Word Nevada
