(Nevada – March 13, 2025) – The First 5 Nevada Family Leadership Council is looking for passionate parents and caregivers who want to advocate for young children and families. Working alongside parents and caregivers, the council provides members with meaningful leadership and decision-making roles in shaping early childhood policies, procedures, and resources—ensuring equitable access to essential programs
“Our First 5 Nevada Family Leadership Council is a tremendous asset to the advocacy and outreach we do on behalf of Nevada families,” said Denise Tanata, Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems Advisor, The Children’s Cabinet. “When given the tools and support, parent advocates have a strong voice in decision-making roles and assisting in shaping policy within the early childhood system.”
First 5 Nevada, a program within The Children’s Cabinet, serves as a one-stop resource hub, connecting families to essential programs and services through its comprehensive website. Families can easily access a network of resources, information, and funding within the early childhood system.
Council members receive advanced leadership training to prepare them for service on local and state advisory boards, councils, and commissions. Members also receive stipends and other support for their participation.
