Las Vegas, Nev. — Immigration attorneys at De Castroverde Law Group, together with Make the Road NV and the Mexican Consulate, are hosting a live seminar to educate local Las Vegas locals on September 4, 2024, from 6 – 7 p.m. at the Clark County Library on East Flamingo Road on the new Parole in Place program “Keeping Families Together” introduced by the Biden administration and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced new steps to keep families together during the immigration process. DHS is creating a way to look at requests, one by one, from noncitizen spouses and stepchildren of U.S. citizens who have lived in the U.S. since June 2014. If these requests are approved, these noncitizen spouses can apply to become lawful permanent residents without leaving the United States.
“There are an estimated 500,000 noncitizen spouses of U.S. citizens that could be eligible for this program,” said Miguel Morales Ortiz, immigration lawyer at De Castroverde Law Group. “As attorneys, we have the responsibility to ensure the public is educated on this new program and how to navigate this process effectively.”
Applications for the new program opened on August 19, 2024, however, navigating the application process is complex and requires careful preparation. De Castroverde immigration attorneys will help people interested in taking on this program. The seminar will inform attendees of this new process and outline the steps necessary to maneuver the program.
“Many trying to handle the immigration pipeline don’t know where to begin,” said Juan De Pedro, immigration attorney at De Castroverde Law Group. “New programs like Parole in Place offer another path to permanent residency. Our team is excited to help anyone wanting to learn more about this new path.”
De Castroverde’s seminar is open to the public. Those interested in learning from De Castroverde’s immigration attorneys can sign up for the seminar here.
