“We are honored to be recognized in this year’s AIA Nevada Design and Service Awards,” said Windom Kimsey FAIA, LEED AP, president of TSK Architects. “Water Street in Henderson is home for our company and the vision for Southend has always been to focus on the redevelopment and revitalization of the historic core of the city. We are humbled to be recognized for our efforts and look forward to the positive impact this project will have on the great community of Henderson for years to come.”
TSK’s Southend on Water is a multi-phased, mixed use urban infill redevelopment in downtown Henderson, Nevada. The project was constructed in four phases over a period of five years and includes multi-family apartments, single-family housing, an Italian restaurant, office space and a bocce ball court. All structures in the project share a common palette of materials and colors that integrate the overall project design.
The 2023 AIA Architecture Nevada Design and Service Awards feature four levels including honor, merit, citation and excellence in sustainable design. The merit award is a high level of recognition and granted to projects exhibiting distinguished designed achievements. Eligible projects must have been completed within the last five years and submitted by an AIA member in good standing and licensed in the State of Nevada, and all project participants must have been substantial contributors to the project’s design. Jurors assessed projects based on their innovation and originality, their physical organization, their response to geographic context, the integration of aesthetics and their incorporation of social responsibility were all considered.
