UNLVino Returns This Year, With a Twist
UNLV’s Longest Running Tradition Returns As ‘UNLVino Presents’
LAS VEGAS– UNLVino, one of Vegas’ most iconic traditions returns to the food and beverage scene for the 48th year but with a new twist. With an ode to its humble roots, UNLVino evolves once again, transforming into “UNLVino Presents,” a new epicurean-style experience, designed to take the community on a culinary journey.
Starting this March, UNLVino Presents, in partnership with Southern Glazer’s Wine, Spirits & Beer of Nevada and UNLV William F. Harrah College of Hospitality will introduce a three-part special event series that will include two exclusive Bon Vivant Dining experiences, culminated by a final intimate Grand Tasting inside the college’s stunning new academic building, Hospitality Hall.
“After a 2 year hiatus, we are thrilled to bring back to life this historic fundraising event that not only provides [UNLV] hospitality students with hands-on experience, but opens the door for job opportunities as they prepare to take the next step in their culinary careers,” said John Landry, Executive Vice President/General Manager of Southern Glazer’s of Nevada. “With the help of our longstanding partner, [UNLV], we’ve curated a dining experience that will bring together our community through world-class food and wine, and it’s all for an amazing cause.”
Inspired by university alumni in 1974, millions of dollars have been raised to fund scholarships for the UNLV hospitality students. From its origin, UNLVino was crafted to indulge the Las Vegas community while creating new opportunities for university students, bringing together the best chefs, winemakers, brew masters and distillers in the world. UNLVino remains the longest tradition at the University and one of the college’s largest fundraisers with hundreds of student volunteers and 40 scholarships awarded annually.
“UNLVino Presents is more than just a food and beverage festival,” said UNLVino Scholarship recipient, Lauren Mausbach. “It’s a tradition that provides students with real-world experience and helps fund scholarships that give hospitality students, like myself, an opportunity to achieve our career aspirations.”
The first of the dinner series, will be a four course pairing between world-class winery Chimney Rock Wines and world-famous Chef, Vincent Pouessel, inside Mon Ami Gabi on March 28, starting at 6pm.
Iconic Las Vegas Chef, Oscar Amador, will bring to life an exclusive culinary journey at Summerlin’s Anima, for the second dinner in the series. The four course menu will be paired with the fine wine collection from Napa Valley’s Far Niente Winery, on April 11 at 6pm.
UNLVino Presents will culminate the series with an intimate final event – the Grand Tasting, featuring a curated tasting menu alongside dishes served up by five local favorite restaurants, presented by Hospitality College students and paired with a blend of high end wine collections from around the world. With a guest list limited to 500, this years’ Grand Tasting will deliver an elevated, more exclusive experience. Student volunteers will also be working to assist vendors, manage the onsite auction, and serve as event hosts while guests indulge in a wide array of wine and food against a backdrop of live music The Grand Tasting will be held on May 7, inside the jewel of the UNLV campus – Hospitality Hall – from 6pm-9pm.
Tickets for the first two dinners are $250. Tickets for the Grand Tasting can be purchased in advance for $200 or the night of the event for $250.
Guests and event staff of UNLVino Presents are not required to wear face masks, regardless of vaccination status, however UNLV and Southern Glazer’s of Nevada support event staff and guests who choose to wear masks. If a guest feels ill, or tests positive for COVID-19, tickets will be refundable.

About UNLVino
From its humble beginnings in the Southern Wine & Spirits warehouse, the annual UNLVino has grown into Las Vegas’ premier wine, spirits and food event, and serves as the year’s largest scholarship fundraiser for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ (UNLV) William F. Harrah College of Hospitality students. Founded in 1974 by Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits Senior Managing Director Larry Ruvo and former College of Hospitality dean Jerry Vallen, UNLVino began as a small wine tasting, with proceeds going to UNLV’s hotel college fund. As UNLVino’s popularity grew, so too did its hosting venues, moving from the warehouse into UNLV’s Thomas and Mack Center, and eventually expanding to numerous Las Vegas resorts as fans and community sponsors took notice. Entering its 45th year, UNLVino has raised millions of dollars in scholarships and has become one of the city’s must-attend events of the year.
