LAS VEGAS (June 2026) – The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, announces the addition of a new director of collections and archives in addition to several accolades awarded to its senior director of education.
Following a distinguished tenure at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, The Mob Museum is thrilled to introduce Su Kim Chung, Ph.D., as its new director of collections and archives.
For more than 25 years, Chung served as a faculty member in UNLV Libraries’ Special Collections and Archives, most recently as the head of public services. A published author and researcher, Chung is an expert on Las Vegas, Southern Nevada, Las Vegas entertainment and showgirl history as well as in preservation and archiving. In addition to her many written works, Chung has been featured on various news programs and panels and will be available for future interviews. Before her new appointment, Chung had served as a member of The Mob Museum’s Advisory Council since 2017. She currently sits on both the Nevada State Historical Records Advisory Board and the Showgirl Legacy Foundation’s board.
In addition to Su Kim Chung’s arrival, the Museum is proud to share that Senior Director of Education Claire White has been awarded two accolades for her work as a public historian.
On April 30, 2026, White was named UNLV’s College of Liberal Arts, History Department’s Distinguished Department Alumna. White received her baccalaureate degree in History, Secondary Education, from UNLV in 2008.
Additionally, on May 27, the City of Las Vegas’ Historic Preservation Commission’s Community Development Department named White the winner of its 2026 Preservation Education award.
