The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) Board of Regents is proud to announce the appointment of Natalie Brown as the new Assistant Vice Chancellor for Workforce Development and Community Colleges. Brown brings over 25 years of experience in Nevada and a wealth of knowledge to her new position, having worked for Truckee Meadows Community College since 2013. Brown holds a doctorate in educational leadership and policy from University of Utah, M.A. and B.A. degrees in Spanish and foreign languages and literature from University of Nevada, Reno and is currently working towards her MBA at Arizona State University.
“Higher education in Nevada is fortunate to have Natalie join its forces in furthering exceptional student experiences, student success and healthy campus growth across our state,” said Dale Erquiaga, acting chancellor of the Nevada System of Higher Education. Her extensive experience and knowledge of Nevada will be an asset to our workforce development efforts. Her role in coordinating with different state agencies and advocating for workforce growth and stability in Nevada will help further our mission to serve the needs of our students and communities.”
Brown will work in close alignment with the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs and Community Colleges to address the needs, demands, and responsibilities of Nevada’s community colleges in all relevant areas. Brown will also act as liaison with other state agencies to create workforce development opportunities while simultaneously serving on the Board of Regents’ Workforce Committee. Brown will also be tasked to seek out grants and funding from public and private sources that support the development and growth of NSHE institution programs.
