The Las Vegas Fashion Council (LVFC), is gearing up for its annual Little Black Dress event, transforming the Porsche dealership, 6800 Redwood St., on Dec. 1. Guests will enjoy a live fashion show by local designers and established brands, as well as student, emerging and established design competitions. There will be entertainment, food and beverage, a silent auction, and a not to be missed holiday shopping opportunity with proceeds to benefit the LVFC scholarship fund.
“Las Vegas is an established leader in the global fashion industry. Our goal is to diversify the Las Vegas economy through the fashion industry and expand it to an internationally recognized level,” says Carrie Carter Cooper, Founder and President of the Las Vegas Fashion Council. “The Little Black Dress celebrates our designer as well as raised needed funds for our programs.”
To continue its mission, the LVFC received the FY23 Project Grant For Organizations from Nevada Arts Council (NAC) to support its upcoming Little Black Dress event. Sponsorships are still available, as well as donations for the silent auction. Email info@lasvegasfashioncouncil.com for more info.
As part of giving back, LVFC has chosen SafeNest to be the recipient of its annual clothing drive this holiday season. SafeNest works to end the domestic violence epidemic with the prevention, protection, and empowerment. Visit safenest.org to learn more. The community’s generosity at this time of year supports those in need. The clothing drive will be held from Nov. 18 to Dec. 7. Visit lasvegasfashioncouncil.com for more information and drop-off locations.
LVFC has joined the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Connects as an added benefit to its members. This program provides participating regional fashion organizations with access to leading industry experts and resources to help increase awareness of their market and designers, expand their reach and strengthen their connection to the business, commerce, media, and trade in the industry.
The Little Black Dress event is taking place on Dec. 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Porsche dealership located at 6800 Redwood St. For more information, to purchase tickets or to become a member of the Las Vegas Fashion Council, visit www.lasvegasfashioncouncil.com and stay up to date on upcoming events by following LVFC on Twitter @LVFC_NV, Instagram @LVFC_NV, and facebook.com/LasVegasFashionCouncil.
